Ladies and gentlemen, we have new travel trends in town. Bleisure and Bizcation. Heard of it? Bleisure is defined by the Macmillan as a portmanteau of business and leisure. Simply it is the practice of combining business travel and leisure travel into one trip. Bizcation is basically having a vacation while or immediately after a business trip.
Human resource management has become increasingly sophisticated over the years but the goal has not changed: improve the quality of employees’ working lively so they can be efficient and effective in the workplace. Bleisure and Bizcation is the key.
The Bleisure Travel Trends 2018 report by International SOS and CAPA found that nine out of 10 people believe the responsibility for the leisure portion of business travel falls to the traveler. Moreover according to Accord hotels a survey among 600 business travelers conducted in 2014, concluded that 83 % of participants use their time in their travel destination to explore it actively. 60 % indicated that they have tried bleisure travel at least once and 30 % use two vacation days to extend the duration of their stay. The most popular activities are: Sightseeing, Local cuisine, Culture and art.
Enough of the geeky information. Imagine if you had to attend a business trip outside the city or town and you could tag along your family or friends? Wow! Now that is work revolution; minimal stress levels for both management and employees. Lets face it, our work environment has totally blurred the personal and professional boundary and this is an idea you should embrace if you feel the need to hit two birds with one stone.
